Bugha Biography

Kyle “Bugha” Giersdorf is a full-time American Fortnite streamer and professional player for Sentinels.

Bugha lives in Pennsylvania which is notorious for having the best ping for the Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers. His low ping allowed him to take walls with ease and dominate the competition and qualify for solos in the first week of the event. The homer grind is also something Bugha is known for. Its a dance mimicking Homer Simpson in which you cover your face with your arms and move your hips in a circle. Bugha is known to do the dance on stream including after he won the Fortnite Trio Cash Cup. He joined Sentinels on March 25th, 2019. After qualifying for the 2019 Fortnite World Cup in Solos week 1, the young player showed a dominant performance at the main event, taking the victory.

In the World Cup Finals, He managed to win his first game with a 9 kill victory, including an spectacle shockwave play to take high ground for the final kill. Bugha collected 19 points in total the first game and continued to cruise through the rest of the five games ending with 59 points. He finished with more than a 20 point lead to the runner-up, cementing himself as the best Fortnite player in the world while taking home the grand prize of $3,000,000.

The World Cup was Bugha’s first big tournament. This was due to Epic Games dropping the age requirement from 16 to 13 which was a monumental change for the competitive scene. The new age limit allowed Bugha to participate in the tournament. Bugha says he’ll continue to compete in all upcoming Fortnite Tournaments including the season 10 Fortnite Championship Series.

In an interview with ESPN, Bugha says he plans to not spend a penny and save of all earnings.

On July 29th 2019, Bugha appeared on Jimmy Fallon and is only the 2nd esports personality to appear on a late night talk show, the other being Ninja. While on the show, Kyle explained his daily schedule including his warm up routine and scrimmage schedule. The meaning behind his gamertag was also discussed, Kyle said it came from his grandfather always saying bugha bugha to him as a child. The following day, he appeared on Today show. He said on the show that he would buy a new desk with his prize money.
